Western Civilization

Aristotle, Philosophy and Logic

Alexander the great conquered the Middle East from Greece to India from 336 to 323 B.C.

Alexander was tutored by Aristotle who in turn had been taught by Plato, and as he conquered, Alexander spread the concepts of Plato and Aristotle’s logic far and wide.  Since that time the logic of Plato and Aristotle took deep root in the Western World and over time both the Rabbins and the professing Christians in Rome applied the logic of Aristotle to the Holy Scriptures, interpreting the scriptures through human reasoning in place of taking the Holy Scriptures literally.

If the above is accurate is there some in-site we can draw from it? What scriptures were compromised? Lets look at Phil 2: 5

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation,

Who, though existing in the demut of the mode of being of Elohim [His etzem or essential nature, Yn 1:1-2; 17:5], nevertheless Moshiach did not regard being equal with G-d as a thing to be seized [BERESHIS 3:5],Who, though existing in the demut of the mode of being of Elohim [His etzem or essential nature, Yn 1:1-2; 17:5], nevertheless Moshiach did not regard being equal with G-d as a thing to be seized [BERESHIS 3:5],

New International Version: ^who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage

KJV.

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

New American bible.

Who,[b] though he was in the form of God,
did not regard equality with God something to be grasped

My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all, and no one can take them out of the Father’s hand.
John 14:28 You heard me tell you, ‘I am going away and I will come back to you.’ If you loved me, you would rejoice that I am going to the Father; for the Father is greater than I.
Jesus own words are that the father is greater than I so to Identify the correct translation of Phil. 2:5-6 is supported by the explicit scripture of Jesus words saying the father is greater than Jesus. So he can’t be equal with something that is greater than its simple math.
Human reasoning and Greek philosophy make Phil. 2:5-6 one of the most misunderstood scriptures in the bible, which leads to a bad conclusion of who Jesus was and his mission.
